Proteins perform a wide variety of functions in living cells and being able to understand their modes of action is of great use for biotechnological and medical applications. The ultimate degree of understanding how proteins work would be if we can manipulate their function. In this module you will learn to use experimental and/or theoretical methods to determine the best approach on how to manipulate the performance of a particular (group of) protein(s). These methods will be based on evolutionary as well as biochemical and biophysical principles.
